Chris Eddy

Chris has his BSc in Health Sciences from Simon Fraser University, and completed the X-ray and Ultrasound programs at BCIT in Vancouver. He has been working in the Ultrasound field for 15 years. Beginning in 2007, he initiated, built and now presents half-day and full-day hands-on ultrasound sessions for physicians. These sessions are tailored towards the experience level and knowledge base of the residents. Courses range from “Introduction to On-Call Ultrasound” for first year residents to “Advanced Doppler Applications in Liver & Kidney Transplants” for fifth year residents.

Chris was the first non-physician in Canada to be certified by the CEUS (Canadian Emergency Ultrasound Society) as an Independent Practitioner, was on the CEUS Board of Advisors, and co-authored the Emergency Department Echo (EDE) Level-3 – Emergency Third Trimester Obstetrical Procedures manual. Most recently, Chris been working with the UBC CPD (Continuing Professional Development) on some of the ultrasound training courses for physicians — including Shock, Trauma and Obstetrical, as well as developing a one-day hands-on course for physicians using ultrasound-guided simulator training for interventional procedures.  


Maurice Cherrie

Maurice graduated from the Eastern Ontario School of X-ray in 1997. For the past 20 years Maurice has enjoyed all aspects of diagnostic imaging leading to a career working in CT, Interventional Imaging, and MRI. Maurice’s passion lies in discovering and using new technologies to enrich the patient experience and outcome following their procedure.
